UAE Gratuity Calculator

Estimate your UAE end-of-service gratuity from your basic salary and how long you've worked — using the standard labour-law formula (21 days' basic pay per year for the first 5 years, 30 days a year after that). It's a close estimate; your contract and final settlement decide the exact amount.

How UAE gratuity is calculated

  1. Work out your daily wage: basic monthly salary ÷ 30.
  2. For the first 5 years of service, you earn 21 days' basic pay per year.
  3. For each year beyond 5, you earn 30 days' basic pay per year.
  4. The total is capped at two years' pay, and you must complete at least 1 year to qualify.

Gratuity calculator FAQ

Is gratuity based on basic salary or total salary?

Basic salary only. Allowances such as housing, transport and commissions are excluded — which is why the basic-to-allowance split in your contract matters.

Do I get gratuity if I resign?

Yes, once you've completed at least one full year of continuous service, provided you serve your notice. Under the current UAE labour law the full earned gratuity is payable on completing your service.

Is this calculator accurate?

It uses the standard UAE labour-law formula and gives a close estimate. Your exact gratuity depends on your contract, basic salary and final settlement — always confirm with your employer or MOHRE.

When can gratuity be reduced or lost?

If you have under one year of service there's no gratuity, and dismissal for gross misconduct on the specific legal grounds can mean losing it. Unpaid leave usually isn't counted toward your length of service.
